How to Use NCERT Books for Class 9 English for Exam Preparation

From my classroom experience, students who use all three NCERT Books for Class 9 English in a planned way perform much better in reading and writing sections. Start with Beehive: read the prose and poem, underline difficult words, then note meanings and important lines. Next, read the corresponding story in Moments to strengthen comprehension and values.

After finishing a unit, open Words And Expressions 1 and solve every exercise sincerely – treat it as regular practice rather than extra work. For CBSE exams, questions are mainly based on NCERT content, so staying close to the book language, understanding themes and practising short and long answers regularly is more effective than memorising guidebook answers.
