Editorial Policy

Who We Are

NCERT Books (ncertbooks.net) is an independent education resource site dedicated to making official NCERT textbooks, solutions, and exemplar problems freely accessible to every CBSE and ICSE student across India. Our editorial team reviews every page against the official NCERT curriculum published at ncert.nic.in.

We are not affiliated with NCERT, CBSE, or any government body. We provide supplementary study material, chapter-wise PDF access, and expert-written solutions to help students succeed in board examinations and competitive entrance tests.

How We Source Content

 • Official PDFs: Every PDF linked on this site points to the official source at ncert.nic.in or direct download endpoints we host for faster access. We do not rewrite or modify NCERT textbook content.
 • Solutions & Explainers: Solutions and concept explainers are written by our editorial team, cross-referenced against NCERT exemplar answers and verified CBSE board-paper marking schemes.
 • Chapter Summaries: Chapter summaries and concept explanations are fact-checked against the NCERT syllabus for the relevant CBSE academic session (2026–27 as of this writing).
 • Exam Material: Sample question papers and marking schemes are sourced from official CBSE releases at cbse.gov.in and verified before publication.

How We Fact-Check

Before publishing or updating any article, every page is reviewed for:

 • Accuracy of chapter names, numbers, and page counts against the official NCERT index
 • Consistency with the current CBSE/ICSE syllabus year
 • Working links to ncert.nic.in, cbse.gov.in, and official PDF sources
 • Compliance with NCERT copyright and fair-use guidelines
 • Correct alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) framework and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) updates

Update Cadence

We refresh every page on a quarterly cycle, or immediately when:

 • NCERT releases a new edition (e.g., NEP 2026–27 textbook launches)
 • CBSE or ICSE boards revise the syllabus or exam pattern
 • A reader reports an error (see Corrections below)
 • Google Search Console data indicates the page needs a freshness update

Every updated article carries a visible “Last Updated” date so students always know they are reading current information.

Corrections

If you spot an error — a wrong chapter number, a broken PDF link, an outdated syllabus reference, or any other inaccuracy — please contact us through our Contact page with the URL and specific concern. Our editorial team reviews correction requests within 72 hours and publishes fixes as a visible update note on the affected page.

We take accuracy seriously. Every correction is logged internally and used to improve our editorial review process.
